Losing an Accent

Losing an Accent is Dr G's debut book and was published in Oct 2025.

Losing an Accent is a journey into humanity's connections and an examination of how we are both united and divided as people.

Belonging poems highlight dilemmas of being Black in Britain, in feeling at home in, yet disconnected from, the UK. Lenses of Humanity poems take readers on an odyssey of corporate, religious, social and educational dilemmas that affect everyone.

Refugees poem illustrate the issues people experience after fleeing danger and how they are perceived. Cultural Identities poems scan the racialised landscape to highlight issues influencing cultural identities in Britain and America. Codes of Iniquity are poetic reflections examining the wickedness that exists in the world through varied lenses. (Self) Love and Relationships poems are a combination of reflections on and advice for those who want love, from others and for their own self.

Combining native Brooklynite steel with a historian's sageness, Dr G addresses the complexities of being Black in Britain, American and of African descent. Through this debut book, he introduces readers to his poetry, aiming to inspire social and political undertsanding, justice and equality.

9/11 and the Aftermath

9/11 and the Aftermath was launched on 10 September 2026.

Native New Yorker Dr G relives his lived experience of 9/11 through his powerful second collection of poetry, 9/11 and the Aftermath.

The first half of 9/11 and the Aftermath traces the long shadow of this single day of devastation and the years that followed. Through vivid imagery and intimate reflection, these poems explore shocks of survival, aches of displacement, and the complicated work of remembering without being consumed.

9/11 and the Aftermath navigates grief, fear, resilience, and stubborn desire for renewal through Dr G's poetic testaments to endurance and the fragility of hope.

The aftermath of 9/11 encompasses the second half of Dr G's collection exploring themes of religious cynicism, ethnic fanaticism , and destructive ethnocentrism that significantly increased after 9/11.

9/11 and the Aftermath is potent poetry illuminating impacts of 9/11 and resulting complications influencing the present.
